These terms govern your use of securingrelief.org and its fundraiser pages (the "Site"), operated by Securing Relief Inc. ("Securing Relief," "we," "us"). By using the Site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. About us
Securing Relief Inc. is a Texas nonprofit corporation recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) private non-operating foundation (EIN 92-2962173).
2. Donations
Gifts made through the Site are made to Securing Relief Inc. and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Securing Relief keeps full discretion over how gifts are used: if a fundraiser raises more than needed or the need changes, gifts will help others with similar needs or support our other charitable programs. Online donations are processed by Givebutter under Givebutter's own terms. Nothing on the Site is tax, legal or financial advice.
3. Fundraiser information
We verify each request before publishing a fundraiser and describe needs in good faith. Descriptions are deliberately general to protect recipients' privacy, and circumstances can change after a fundraiser is published. Totals and statistics on the Site come from our records and Givebutter and may lag behind or differ slightly from our filed figures; our official financial information is in our IRS Forms 990-PF.
4. Applications for assistance
Submitting an application does not create any right to assistance or any obligation on us to provide it. We decide whether and how to help at our sole discretion, under our charitable purposes and the law. You agree that the information you submit is true and that you are 18 or older. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle application information.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: use the Site for anything unlawful or fraudulent; submit false applications or information; impersonate anyone; try to identify, contact or harass people helped through fundraisers; interfere with the Site's security or operation, or use automated means to submit forms or scrape the Site; or upload malicious code.
6. Intellectual property
The Site's text, logos, graphics and design belong to Securing Relief or its licensors. You may share links to fundraiser pages and quote short excerpts to promote them. Do not use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you, or to raise money on our behalf, without our written permission.
7. Third-party services and links
The Site uses or links to third-party services, including Givebutter (donations), Google (fonts) and ProPublica (financial filings). We are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
8. Disclaimers
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Securing Relief and its directors, officers and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.
10. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on the Site infringes your copyright, email hello@securingrelief.org with: your contact information; a description of the work; the location of the material on the Site; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner, with your signature.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Fort Bend County, Texas, unless the law requires otherwise.
12. Changes
We may update these terms by posting a new version with a new effective date. Continued use of the Site means you accept the updated terms.
